Under a contract with the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s (SAMHSA) Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT), A-G is coordinating a far-reaching initiative to help addiction professionals and graduate students gain knowledge, advance credentialing standards, and foster best practices. Because of their seminal role in educating tomorrow’s counselors and developing today’s models of safe and effective treatment, Historically Black Colleges and Universities occupy a central place in this initiative. Staff and faculty at these institutions are uniquely positioned to shepherd both students and practicing professionals through the credentialing process and to disseminate new developments and insights in the field.
In 2018 A-G will support three nation-wide workshops to address topics ranging from pharmacology and theories of counseling to professional ethics and special populations. To learn more about this workshop and other behavioral health projects, we invite you to visit our website at www.a-gassociates.com.
